Default Dedicated Minis should be trade blocked Please.

Please make Dedicated Minis trade blocked. there is not a real reason they should be traded.

All we wanted with the minis was account access to them once put in the HoM. so all our characters could still use them. But what is happening is people are stating to sell these things on the after market. yes they get a nice warning when its attempted. but why not turn that warning into a full block from trade? There simpily is no reason to trade away a dedicated mini.

The intent of our original proposal was to gain account access to the minis once put into the HoM. we were all ok with the fact that the mini was for us once it was put in there, and that uncustomized or undedicated minis could still be sold as normal. Which makes sense as if they are undedicated they are not locked to an account.

Now I am not trying to limit how people play. OK. MAYBE this is legitimate for people that have multi accounts. OK I'll give you that MAY be the reason this is allowed.

But seeing these dedicated minis starting to appear on the game Auction houses on fan forums is disturbing... Do the buys REALLY know whats happening here? its just a potential mess in the works is all I am thinking. It would probably just be better to keep them from being traded at all as you do Bonus weapons and PvP armor. Yet preserve the account wide functionality of them for the owners of dedicated Minis.

If I don't own gwen and never plan on it, why would I care?

Not to mention a dedicated mini is worth alot less than a non. so it may be a way for newer players to enjoy them cheaply.

It is really funny how anything with the HoM is:

I'm cold / A-net turns up the heat./
WOW that is way to much, now I'm too hot......

Some people might just be adding Minis to expand their monument without wanting to actually keep them, and this is better than deleting the mini/putting it on a mule.

And other people might not care about HoM at all and just want a mini for a cheaper price. Why is that a problem?

I have no problem with selling dedicated pets. I do not need or want them on my chars (I have specific pets I keep) and I only bought them for my HoM (which I have to get the pets for EVERY char, not the account.
Before the dedication I just left them on the ground in HoM so dedication is an ideal.. I get to sell the pets to get a part of the gold back, the buyer gets cheap pets and I have gold to put towards the next pets I buy.

OK I stand corrected. If people think its ok Then great. But yea... I just thought this seems pretty cheap of people to be selling dedicated minis... I don't like that people sell ANY minis at all. I liked that this took many of those OFF the market and it seemed for a while that if a Mini went into a HoM it was forever yours... but this seems to make that kinda moot. Its like winning a trophy and having it inscribed with your name then selling it. Sure you can do it, but its a pretty cheap ass thing to do if you ask me... That's all I was meaning by this thread.

But if people really want to do this, I guess whatever. more power to you for finding some poor sucker to accept that. I just thought this would preserve the original intent of customizing the mini.

And I don't think Anet made it to hot, I didn't think it was too cold, All I did was put a LARGER warning out there before people did it like I did. And then that turned into a proposal to get it to allow account access over time. Anet basically agreed... and eventually gave us that option. 1 HoM mounting but account access still there for use outside the HoM. great. But the side effect of that became flooding of the market again.

Also now people are also borrowing minis to get them in their HoM and giving them back to the original owners to continue to use otherwise. That was specifically the type of thing Anet said they didn't want people to be able to do. Sure its in someones HoM only once, but the minis are still floating around and being traded. I didn't think that was Anet intent.

The fact is, with very few exceptions, is that you dont win the mini at all.

You are entitled to your opinion, but calling people you dont cheap and others suckers is both rude and uncalled for and makes me devalue your opinion.

I am sure anet know what their intent was far better than you just as I believe that they considered the outcome before making any change. At the end of the day anet is flooding the market with various new/extra giveaway pets as there arent many things they can give that dont effect the gameplay.

If people want to lend them to friends as they arent bothered about the HoM, then its their choice and they dont need judging from you.

QFT.

If somebody wants to buy a dedicated mini (because they have no interest in putting minis in the HoM) shouldn't they still have the option to buy one?

It helps to look at trade window before buying.

Because the only reason for existence of this thread would be someone buying a dedicated pet.

i amy see where this may be a prob on guru auction,
i think we can always assume that a Non-Dedicated mini is being sold unless told otherwise.

There's not really any reason to care if your miniature is dedicated or not until GW2 comes out, anyway. You can still double click on them and let them wander about to their hearts content. I'm not sure if you can really even scam people with this becuase they are still just as usuable as any other miniature, And their dedicated state really isn't any different than they were before GW:EN came out.

The only difference is that you can't put it in your HoM. And really, my question is, if you care that much about putting pets in your HoM, wouldn't you have done the research to figure out what "Dedicated at Hall of Monuments" meant?

If someone doesn't intend to put the pet in their HoM or doesn't intend to ever get GWEN, why should we not give them the option of a cheap minipet?

I personally prefer dedicated as they are alot cheaper for the most part. I am one of the people who feel HoM is a waste of time so what do I care if they are dedicated

The whole point of changing minis from customized to dedicated was SO they could be traded. There is already a message telling you whether or not to trade, so you have to be pretty unobservant to be scammed. Yeah, some people will be, but most wont. I know that one guy in my guild has a dedicated panda, while he'd never have been able to afford a normal one. And the guy who sold it probably got good stuff out of the deal. Leave it as it is. it works.

Some people don't care about the HoM, and just want a cool little minipet. Dedicated minis are a way for them to get one cheaper.

If you're dumb enough to buy a dedicated mini at full price when it specifically says in the trade window, you don't deserve that money you pretty much just got scammed out of.

Same when people scam ppl to drop their rare crystalline swords on the ground and then Return in and grab them in 1 millisecond. The person with the crystalline deserved that to happen for being that ignorant.

Just check before you buy one. If it's dedicated and you don't want a dedicated miniature, don't buy it.

Some jackass tried to scam me. Here's the story:

I saw a guy advertising mini-Gwen for 100k+15e. Well, this is fairly cheap. When I opened trade with him, he showed me a nice undedicated min-Gwen. So, I was all happy and provided my 100k+15e of the bargain. I didn't hit accept yet.

As soon I did that, he promptly changed the trade from the undedicated to a 'DEDICATED' version of the pet. It happened in split-second, but I managed to catch him. I closed the trade, and told him 'Nice try...', to which he replied, '))'

What a pure jackass...

Kudos to you for catching a simple ploy. Most people aren't smart enough to read plain english telling them so.

On topic. If you want a dedicated mini, I'm not stopping you. But please show the brains enough to be able to look it up if you don't know what it means.
